Position Summary
The membership communities are led by a Community of Practice Leader dedicated to building and managing a community of executives representing the top in their field. We seek a Practice Leader to work with executives in their function within their company.
The Practice Leader must deliver skills across three key areas to create value for executives from leading organizations around the world:
Relationship Management – ability to quickly develop strong, lasting relationships akin, to being a trusted advisor and confidant
Business Development – ability to grow the membership by leveraging strategic sales skills and effectively managing sales pipeline
Innovation Program Curator – ability to input into a unique, world-class knowledge-sharing program across physical and virtual formats
Responsibilities
The Community of Practice Leader will be responsible for building the membership, expertly managing relationships to understand member needs, serving as liaison to initiate and facilitate connections amongst members, and for leading program creation and execution.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Get to know members at events and virtually via group video calls, one-on-one phone calls; listen and get to know the issues that keep them up at night and make the relevant connections.
- Co-create year-round programs (two Innovation Roundtables, deep dives, conference calls, etc.) around members’ needs and interests and pressing business challenges.
- Maintain member satisfaction (NPS) and member engagement (Health scores) to provide value to members and ensure member retention.
Following the original outreach to invited members by the internal sales team, talk to these executives extolling the value of membership in a low pressure, high credibility, storytelling method and close the sale.
Education and Experience
This is a great role for a strategic, business developer comfortable working with executives. They will have client relationship management experience, possibly developed through senior consulting roles, coupled with an entrepreneurial, hands-on style. The ideal candidate will be able to interact as an equal to executives without interjecting themselves as “the authority”.
We seek most, if not all, of the following experience and skills:
- Client relationship management skills at senior levels
- Proven success in a variety of corporate cultures; some career experience working for a start-up or entrepreneurial company a plus
- Outstanding leadership, general management and communications skills with the ability to work independently, as a leader of a young team, and as a collaborator with colleagues
- The ability to think and act with a creative, informed intelligence
- An individual known for their intellectual curiosity and emotional intelligence
- A strong, confident style, high energy, command presence, capable public speaker, executive presence (not awed by senior corporate executives, world leaders, and celebrities)
- College degree required; MBA, or similar preferred
- A tenacious personality in relentless pursuit of excellence, capable of looking at every detail in order to build the most satisfied and engaged member group at EHIR.
