The Sr Software QA Engineer uses their excellent application analysis skills to write test cases and automate testing plans that validate the performance, quality, and workability of a deliverable. The candidate should have a good tester's mind to build the test cases with maximum coverage, advanced programming skills to automate the test cases, a keen eye for detail, and excellent project management skills. Building a good test suite, manual testing and automation goes hand in hand for this role. Detailed, collaborative, adaptive, flexible and team-oriented are key descriptors of the Sr Software QA Engineer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaboration - early and often interaction with engineers to learn the scope and purpose of deliverables
- Design - excellent ability to anticipate software application weaknesses (especially API design, RESTful, and SOAP) and design procedures to expose them
- Documentation - create and maintain solutions documentation and artifacts
- Automation - exceptional ability to write, execute and maintain quality engineering automation scripting and underlying automation systems (node.js using web driver is preferred)
- Process - masterful understanding of testing scopes (regression, integration, performance, load, user acceptance), their purpose, and appropriate use in the delivery cycle
