We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst II to join our Finance team in a hybrid role that combines Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) responsibilities. This unique position will play a key role in supporting a wide range of financial activities with meaningful impact on World Book’s success. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical professional looking to grow in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue and expense entries, ensuring transactions are accurate, complete, and in compliance to GAAP
- Maintains and balances company accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Support financial close and reporting processes for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, form submissions, and financial statement preparation.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and rolling forecast process, working with department leaders to align forecasts with strategic objectives.
- Develop dashboards, reports and KPIs that provide actionable insight on business performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive overall financial performance.
- Calculate and review sales commissions, coordinating with the leadership and sales reps to resolve any discrepancies.
- Identify and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
- Other special projects and ad hoc work as directed by Finance leadership to drive strategic goals
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 2 years of accounting or financial analysis experience; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Possess excellent analytical skills and firm understanding of GAAP.
- A drive for process improvement and an attention to detail – ensuring mistake-free work in a highly repeatable and scalable way.
- Familiarity with using ERP accounting software (Acumatica preferred).
- Experience with enterprise finance management platform is a plus (OneStream preferred).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

World Book maintains a hybrid work schedule with two days per week at the corporate headquarters located at 180 N. LaSalle St., Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60601.
Compensation
$65,000 to $75,000 annual salary
