World Central Kitchen is seeking a dynamic and connected Events Planning Coordinator to join our team in Los Angeles on an urgent, contract basis. This role requires availability six (6) days a week for a couple of weeks minimum, and is crucial in helping us organize and execute impactful events that support our mission of using the power of food to heal communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, coordinate, and execute events and festivals in the Los Angeles area.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local restaurant partners, catering services, and food truck operators.
- Collaborate with World Central Kitchen teams to ensure events align with organizational goals and values.
- Manage event logistics, including permits, vendor coordination, and on-site execution.
- Develop event budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Coordinate marketing and promotional activities to maximize event attendance and visibility.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to improve future events and report on outcomes to stakeholders.
- Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in the restaurant/festival/food trucks events management sector.
- Established network of connections with local restaurants, catering services, and food trucks in Los Angeles.
- Previous work experience in catering or food truck operations is highly desirable.
- Must be a local resident of Los Angeles with a deep understanding of the city's food and event culture.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a knack for building and maintaining relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Available to start immediately with flexibility to continue for up to two (2) weeks minimum.
