The Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) Division of WFCA is the flooring industry’s most recognized program for floor covering installation education and certification.
Role Description
This position serves as the Executive Vice President and head of the CFI division within the WFCA. Works with the executive leadership of the WFCA and the CFI Advisory Board to carry out CFI’s mission of providing professional flooring education and installer certification, and to develop and implement a vision for the future growth and positive impact of CFI on the flooring industry.
Essential Duties
CFI Oversight: Directly oversee and lead the staff and day-to-day operations of CFI. This position has the responsibility of ensuring the success of CFI programs with full leadership and financial accountability for the division.
Strategic Planning: Establish the forward vision and direction for CFI. Work with the Advisory Board to define its purpose, mission, and goals to ensure the growth and positive impact of CFI on the floor covering installation community. Works with the Advisory Board and staff to develop and implement an ongoing planning process, sets the strategic direction of CFI, responds to changes in the marketplace, identifies and monitors new opportunities for growth and impact. Develops and executes goals, objectives, and tactical action plans.
Resource Development: With support from the Board and staff, responsible for growing and stewarding donors and sponsors. Responsible for raising funds to support the core operations of CFI. Develop and oversee budgets that meet self sufficiency requirements of the CFI program.
Program Development: Responsible for working with Advisory Board and in partnership with Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) to explore, identify and evaluate installation training and certification needs in the industry and to respond to those needs with effective program offerings. Maintain close coordination with the FCEF to ensure that CFI is meeting industry needs.
Communication & Marketing: Develop and implement communication plans to increase awareness of training programs and offerings of CFI. Maintain regular ongoing communications with the CFI board, WFCA, and FCEF leadership.
Board Relations/Organizational Governance: Works closely with the Advisory Board of CFI to help members stay fully informed about all aspects of the status and development of CFI programs. The Executive VP should also maintain excellent working relationships with the WFCA board of directors and the FCEF leadership staff.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years equivalent work experience is required.
- Proven track record of success in a leadership position with board-level exposure
- preferred.
- Strong knowledge of flooring installation or other flooring industry experience required.
- CFI certification a strong plus.
- Demonstrated resource development, fundraising and budget management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a critical requirement including
- public speaking ability to large audiences and trade press.
- CFI is headquartered in Dalton, GA. Must live in or be willing to travel as needed to
- Dalton, Georgia on a regular basis.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
