Overall Position Description
The primary role of the Senior Manager within the World Food Program USA Corporate Partnerships team is to leverage the financial, in-kind resources and expertise of the private sector in the United States to create an impact on global food insecurity and its root causes. The ideal candidate is interested in global humanitarian issues, has a solid understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and has experience building multifaced strategic partnerships with the private sector. Reporting to the Director Corporate Partnerships, this position will collaborate with key teams in the US and globally to design and deliver strategic, high-value partnerships across various sectors. This position, and the Corporate Partnerships team play a key role in supporting World Food Program USA’s ambitious growth goals for greater impact to support the mission and programs of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for multifaceted corporate partners with a goal of raising 6 figure gifts to support annual departmental fundraising goal
- Meet and exceed individual fundraising goals.
- Draft, edit and submit materials to corporate partners, including concept notes, proposals, presentations, reports, and pitch decks to support partnership stewardship and growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate social impact and CSR professionals to maintain support for the mission of the UN World Food Programme.
- Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of social impact goals and strategies for corporate accounts, including reviews of company annual ESG, social impact and CSR reports.
- Manage employee engagement and matching gifts programs for current corporate partners, including the design and execution of innovative new opportunities to engage corporate employees in the mission of WFP USA.
- Act as an effective liaison between WFP programmatic units and donors by facilitating the flow of information between program staff, Country Officers, and the WFP USA Corporate Partnerships team.
- Track designated donations, organizational and partner funding priorities, and prepare documents in support of partnership funding requests and reporting requirements
- Work inter-departmentally with WFP USA Marketing and Communications departments to create customized stewardship engagement plans for donors.
- Ensure that partner information is correctly tracked in the Salesforce database.
- Undertake special tasks and projects as directed.
Qualifications
A well-qualified candidate will possess the following:
- Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience
- 6 years of fundraising experience with a proven track record of maintaining and upgrading corporate partners.
- Working knowledge of the global humanitarian and development space, including the functions of different United Nations agencies preferred.
- Knowledge of prospecting and researching for new business development opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM.
- Ability to operate, thrive, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team dynamic.
