GENERAL MANAGER -
Position Summary
The General Manager is an essential member of the World Gym leadership team. The role of the General Manager is to oversee all operations and functions within the gym, including management of childcare & the janitors. The General Manager uses experience, judgement and discretion to make day-to-day business and personnel decisions. The General Manager must be strategic, forward-thinking, organized, and value excellent customer service. The General Manager must conduct themselves as an effective leader at all times.
Qualifications & Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred
- 3 years of retail/service sales experience preferably in a gym environment
- A service-driven mentality and have a desire to help and lead
- Must be fluent in English, and have excellent communication and strong inter-personal skills in person, on the telephone and via email
- Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite, video conferencing tools such as Zoom, Teams etc
- Ability to recognize areas of improvement and make changes using good judgement
- An affinity and passion for fitness
- Highly organized, with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Professional, punctual and reliable
Essential Duties
- Responsible for the overall success and management of the gym
- Manage Front Desk
- Make schedule for Front Desk on monthly basis
- Hiring, terminating and discipline of Front Desk Staff
- Ensure all staff competent in use of DataTrak, telephone etiquette, m’ship plans and insurance plans
- Ensure that the team are aware of special offers, holiday hours or any changes
- Be prepared to fill in when necessary
General Duties
- Oversee Janitorial Staff, Childcare & Trainers
- Trainer contracts and commissions
- Payroll Deduct
- Create payment plans within ‘DataTrak’- online and in club
- Address customer complaints and issues
- Make calls to customers heading to Collections
- Liaise regarding collections with ICS (Ted)
- Check and approve or deny freeze requests
- Call new leads
- Participate and arrange team meetings where necessary
- Report any issues of concern to the gym owner, and find solution
- Additional duties may be assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
