Job Summary
The Account Manager will be an integral part of a team responsible for selling World Marketing of America’s products to the national distribution channel as well as regional retailers. The Account Manager will share primary contact responsibility with their assigned accounts and will be responsible for building sales volume through new account acquisition and new product support and will be responsible for managing and building a national network or independent sales representatives. The candidate must be a team player, able to take and interpret direction, a self-starter, and well organized to keep up with the volume of work required on a daily basis.
Duties
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales and margin goals
- Meet with and develop strong relationships with key personnel at key accounts
- Negotiate and close deals
- Evaluate customer products and market trends to identify market opportunities
- Effectively communicate programs internally within all areas of company operations
- Forecasting item demand by month and providing annual sales forecasts
- Create high impact sales presentations drawing from wealth of company information
- Assist marketing and management team with developing marketing and product strategies
- Recommend opportunities for increased market penetration based on knowledge of customers and territory
- Perform business reviews of accounts and present them as appropriate to management
- Represent the company at customer and industry trade events as appropriate
- Additional areas of responsibility not included in this description may be required
Experience
- Proven experience in sales management or a similar role in the consumer products industry, preferably in B2B or wholesale sales environments.
- Strong understanding of direct sales techniques and account management practices.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must be goal oriented and a self starter
- Organization and prioritization skills
- Strong analytical skills to allow for fact based selling
- Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Strong negotiating skills
- Ability to think strategically and make sound business decisions
- High level of integrity
