We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Retail Sales Manager to oversee and drive the performance of our franchised smoke and vape shops nationwide. As a key member of the corporate office team, the Retail Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting franchisee performance, ensuring operational excellence, and driving retail sales growth. This individual will act as a liaison between the corporate office and franchisees, providing guidance, support, and strategic insights to help maximize revenue and ensure compliance with brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Franchisee Support & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary “sales” point of contact for franchisees in the assigned region.
- Foster positive relationships with franchise owners and managers to ensure alignment with company goals, operational standards, and customer service expectations.
- Provide ongoing training, resources, and support to franchisees and their teams to enhance sales performance and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular visits to franchise locations (virtually and in-person) to evaluate store performance, provide feedback, and ensure consistency across the brand.
2. Sales Performance & Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and improve retail performance across all franchise locations.
- Set sales targets and KPIs for individual franchise locations in collaboration with franchise owners.
- Analyze sales data, identify trends, and work with franchisees to develop action plans for improving revenue and profitability.
- Support franchisees in executing local marketing campaigns and promotions to drive foot traffic and boost sales.
3. Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Monitor store operations to ensure franchisees are adhering to company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Conduct periodic audits of franchise locations, focusing on compliance with health and safety regulations, inventory management, and store presentation.
- Ensure all franchise locations are fully stocked with approved product lines and that inventory levels are managed effectively.
- Provide guidance and troubleshooting for operational issues related to staffing, inventory, and customer service.
4. Training & Development
- Coordinate and lead training programs for franchisees, store managers, and associates to improve their sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service skills.
- Develop and distribute sales and operational materials, including training manuals, best practice guides, and promotional materials.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new product offerings, and regulatory changes, and communicate these updates to franchisees.
5. Performance Reporting & Analysis
- Generate regular sales reports, market analysis, and performance reviews for senior management and franchisees.
- Track key performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement in sales, operations, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide actionable insights based on data and work with franchisees to implement improvements.
6. Customer Service & Brand Experience
- Ensure franchise locations consistently deliver exceptional customer service and a high-quality brand experience.
- Resolve customer escalations that may involve corporate intervention, ensuring the brand’s reputation is protected.
- Monitor customer feedback and market trends to guide product offerings and service strategies.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of retail sales management experience, preferably in the smoke and vape, convenience, or franchising industries.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and operational efficiency in a multi-unit environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop franchisees and their teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with inventory management, merchandising, and store operations.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 30%).
