Job Summary:
The Manager, Food & Beverage (F&B) of the 2025 World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) will have the primary responsibility of overseeing and coordinating all aspects of food and beverage operations during the World Police & Fire Games. This role includes developing and executing a comprehensive strategy that ensures a world-class dining experience for athletes, officials, VIP guests, spectators, volunteers and staff. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven track record in large-scale event hospitality, capable of managing multiple vendors and a diverse team under fast-paced, high-pressure conditions. They work across multiple areas including purchasing, admin & finance, and sales. The Manager, F&B, also assists with onsite logistics and coordination with venues and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement a detailed food and beverage plan aligned with the overall vision and theme of the Games
- Forecast demand and establish service standards that enhance the event experience.
- Organize, direct and evaluate food & beverage service at each venue (note: some venues have existing food service capability)
Vendor & Contract Management:
- Identify, negotiate with, and select reputable food and beverage vendors.
- Coordinate with Sales team and Proud Host Program sponsors
- Assist with contract negotiations and ensure vendors meet service and quality standards.
Budget & Financial Oversight:
- Manage the food and beverage budget, including cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor spending and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Coordinate all purchasing with Purchasing Manager and SVP, Finance & Administration
Staff Management:
- Work with Director of Volunteers for staffing needs at each venue
- Coordinate staffing shifts and manage on-site personnel to maintain high service levels throughout the event.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all food and beverage operations comply with local health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Implement quality control measures to maintain consistency and excellence in service and offerings.
Guest Experience & Operations:
- Collaborate with event planners and venue management to integrate food and beverage services seamlessly into the overall event layout.
- Address and resolve operational issues swiftly to ensure minimal disruption during the event.
Post-Event Analysis:
- Review operational performance and financial outcomes, and prepare a post-event report with actionable insights for future improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in large-scale events or high-volume hospitality environments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and a diverse team in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, health regulations, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
