What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Lead position at World Police and Fire Games?
Job Summary
The Warehouse Lead of the 2025 World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) will organize and facilitate movement/storage of materials, asset tracking and delivery systems, shipping and freight forwarding, warehousing/storage, materials dispatch and delivery, recovery and liquidation programs for all competition and non-competition venues. The Warehouse Lead will also assist in the execution of services and processes that support the Games as a whole in regards to Games Delivery.
Likely areas of responsibility to include:
- warehouse setup and layout to maximize space utilization
- oversee daily operations and develop warehouse operations systems
- overseeing the receiving of goods, checking for accuracy, and coordinating the timely dispatch of orders
- determine needs for material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations
- maintain warehouse space and surrounding grounds so they remain professional in appearance and in safe working order
Job Requirements(Education, Knowledge, Skills)
- Minimum 1 year experience in warehouse management and operations
- Background and passion for sports and the power it has to change individuals, communities and social structure
- Track record of demonstrating strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and administrative skills
- Demonstrated success working in a team setting to ensure accomplishment of team goals
- An ability to work as a team member within the guidelines of the World Police & Fire Games Federation (WPFGF)
- High school diploma
Scope of Work (to include but not limited to):
- Assist in the planning, delivery and management of the warehouse within the Logistics (Material) functional area
- Work closely with Logistics management to identify warehouse staff support for order delivery, sport/event setup, teardown and asset recovery
- Other activities as required and needed
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Director, Logistics, relevant to the furtherance of the goals and objectives of The Games and the position.
