POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief Memphis is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Specialist to support the research, development, and implementation of educational programming for families with children ages 0-5. This role involves conducting needs assessments and data analysis, as well as collaborating with staff, parents, and volunteers to create engaging, culturally sensitive programming that promotes early childhood development.

- Create and facilitate a client-based needs assessment for early childhood care and programming Review and interpret data to inform site-based early childhood programming
- Develop an early childhood program, in collaboration with other RIYS staff and the greater World Relief Memphis team, that reflects data gathered through the needs assessment
- Determine eligibility and enroll clients into relevant programs, performing intake assessments and developing appropriate service plans to track progress towards goal achievement
- Manage programs by facilitating group activities, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for all children and their families
- Work closely with families to understand their needs and preferences, incorporating their cultural backgrounds into program activities.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of materials for activities and events.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation and provide feedback on program outcomes.
- Utilize case management databases at World Relief and case note as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with clients through phone calls, emails, and office visits.
- Work closely with the RIYS Manager and other RIYS team members to further develop need driven, gap-filling, research-driven training and curriculum for refugee immigrant children and their families
- Operate as a cultural broker between volunteers, church groups, educational and other service providers and refugees.
- Participate in staff meetings, ongoing training, and other staff development opportunities

- Understanding of conducting research and analyzing data.
- Previous experience working with young children is preferred.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and educational techniques.
- Ability to create and adapt engaging activities that cater to diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Flexible and adaptable to the evolving needs of families and the program.
- Excellent time management and planning skills, and a keen attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and conflict resolution skills
- Highly motivated with good follow through and problem-solving skills
- Skill and sensitivity working with people from various backgrounds and beliefs

- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to an insured vehicle required
- Must be able to pass a background check and MVR check
- Experience in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Coursework or training in early childhood education, social work, or a related field is preferred.
