The IRONMAN Group is looking for an Activation Coordinator to join the Global Partnerships Department, reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Partnerships. The role will be based in the Tampa office responsible for managing a portfolio of events delivering partner benefits for The IRONMAN Group portfolio of events within the North American Region.
The role will be responsible for the planning, coordination, development and overall delivery of impactful partnership activations on-site, maintaining stakeholder relationships, managing partner reporting and supporting partner renewals and developments.
The Activation coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating on-site partner activations and developing detailed activation plans for the wider North American series-wide partner portfolio.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the partner management team to streamline all partnership activation information to event teams, including but not limited to, operations, logistics, athlete services and local marketing teams to transfer all relevant Global Partnerships information for the events
- Coordinate the ordering of the commercial branding packages with event teams through our official signage suppliers
- Coordinate expo planning communication and partner and vendor booth layouts with the operations team
- Create branding and activation plans for each race for all partners with on-site assets
- Facilitate partner branding orders through detailed information from the partner management team
- Coordinate with local branding team leaders/venue leads to deliver all commercial partner branding across all areas of the event
- Facilitate onsite branding walk throughs with broadcast teams when applicable
- Manage all partner activation touch points onsite including but not limited to – IRONMAN Village, press conferences, registration, welcome functions, all event technical areas, finish line, race day announcements, post event activation recovery area and awards ceremonies
- Be the onsite point of contact with partners as well as all internal stakeholders for all topics related to global partnerships
- Deliver post-race activations reports
- Attend races, including weekends, to support and represent the Global Partnerships department in the delivery of sponsorship assets
Requirements
Skills and Knowledge
- A minimum of 3 years experience within the events industry, ideally in a sponsorship role
- Client management and/or activations experience
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships key stakeholders
- Able to work a flexible schedule that sometimes includes long hours, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to travel (domestic & international) on an as needed basis. Expectations should be (10-15) weeklong trips per year.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Excellent judgment and ability to think quickly and calmly under pressure
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and productively with minimum supervision
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and team building mentality
- Must be able to travel as required to visit partners and attend events
- Knowledge of Microsoft office applications is helpful, but training is provided
- Driving license
The role will be based in The IRONMAN Group head office in Tampa Florida, and travel will be required.
