Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3-5 years' progressive experience in a related field
- Acquire all applicable state required Armed Security Licenses within the first 90 days of employment
- Ability to complete all internal WWT training requirements within the first 90 days of employment.
- Ability to quickly assess critical situations, utilize problem solving skills, and apply a high level of attention to customer satisfaction
- o Conflict De-escalation and control tactics
- Highly proficient in official report writing
- A favorable determination from a third party psychological evaluation is required
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $45,600 to $57,000 (hourly position). Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including certain shifts, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

Requirements:It is the primary function of a Protection Specialist to protect WWT personnel, property and information in a manner that aligns with WWT's culture. Protection specialist shall be state licensed armed security officers and will have the authority and obligation to detain and arrest subjects they observe commit crimes that pose a persistent threat to WWT people, property or information. Protection Specialist must be able to complete all initial and continuing education training, both state and WWT imposed. Protection Specialist must possess the qualifications and skills to navigate all levels of conflict and apply the WWT use of force policy when necessary, while reacting to security incidents.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to gather and assess information while exercising sound judgement, logic, and reasoning in performance of their duties
- Ability to operate effectively under potentially strenuous circumstances
- Act as a deterrent and respond to extreme acts of violence and threats while adhering to the WWT use of force policy
- Demonstrated ability or experience to adapt to rapidly changing environments while maintaining a level of situational awareness
- Identify, track, and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities via various means
- Enforces security policies and support the WWT security team mission
- Provide excellent customer service
- Incident response and report writing
