Title: Senior Google Cloud Platform Network Engineer

Job Description:
As a Google Cloud Platform Cloud Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, automating, and optimizing Google Cloud networking solutions to support enterprise-scale cloud modernization initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure network architecture, security, and performance align with best practices for Life Sciences services environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and automate Google Cloud Platform networking solutions, including VPCs, hybrid connectivity, Private Service Connect, and Cloud Load Balancing.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for network automationusing Terraform (must-have).
- Configure and manage Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, and VPC Peeringfor hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Implement network security controls, including firewall rules, IAM policies, VPC Service Controls, and Cloud Armor.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshooting latency, packet loss, and routing issues.
- Design and optimize routing architectures, leveraging BGP, dynamic routing, and hybrid networking best practices.
- Certify network architectures in a Life Sciencesservices environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, SOC 2).
- Support and maintain DNS, Cloud NAT, and hybrid DNS resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate networking best practices into cloud deployments.
- Maintain detailed network architecture documentationand provide technical guidance to internal teams.
- Stay updated with the latest Google Cloud Platform networking advancements and recommend improvements.
Requirements:
- 7 years of experience in cloud networking, infrastructure automation, or cloud platform engineering.
- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, BGP, subnetting, VLANs, and firewall management.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform networking services, including VPC, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, Cloud NAT, and Load Balancing.
- Expertise in Terraform (must-have)for automating cloud network infrastructure.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Istio (nice to have)for service networking.
- Knowledge of network security best practices, including firewall configurations, IAM, VPC Service Controls, and Cloud Armor.
- Experience in a Life Sciencesservices environment is preferred, with an understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly in diagnosing complex network and routing issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain networking conceptsto both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
