Role: Nimble Storage Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Oakland, CA
Duration: 3-6 months
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Storage Engineer with extensive experience in various storage systems, protocols, and cloud integration to design and implement effective storage solutions. The ideal candidate will also possess strong troubleshooting skills and a collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Storage Systems:
Implement and manage SAN, NAS, and DAS storage systems.
Storage Protocols:
- Ensure proficiency with Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB, and S3 buckets.
- Storage Hardware and Vendors:
- Hands-on experience with storage solutions from Nimble, Dell, Cohesity, and NetApp.
Cloud Storage:
- Understand AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage, and hybrid cloud storage integration (preferred).
Virtualization:
- Work with VMware vSAN, IBM SVC, or other virtualization solutions (mandatory requirement).
- Capacity Planning and Monitoring:
- Utilize tools like Splunk or vendor-specific monitoring solutions for effective capacity management.
Data Security:
- Knowledge of encryption practices (at rest/in transit), access control, and storage security best practices.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Familiarity with data protection standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS, etc.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose storage performance issues and system failures efficiently.
Collaboration:
- Work with DevOps, networking, and security teams to design and implement storage solutions.
Project Management:
- Participate in storage migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery planning.
