World Wide Technology, Inc. has an opportunity available for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. Quality Assurance Engineers work in a very dynamic and challenging environment. This is not a traditional QA-comes-last development environment but a place where QAEs work continuously in partnership with all other team members to use automated and manual testing to ensure that the team is "building the right product" as well as "building the product right." QAEs quickly gain domain knowledge and work with developers in a test-driven development environment. This means that our QAEs co-exist and collaborate regularly with developers to create tests at many different levels of visibility and coverage. Having a broad skill set is important, but the desire to expand that skill set, through new technologies and experiences is even more essential. QAEs are assertive and extremely motivated individuals who have excellent analytical and communication skills and are continually taking on new professional and technical challenges.

What will you be doing?
As a member of our WWT Corporate Website Development team, you will:
- Partner in the design, development, and testing of software in an agile environment that utilizes custom-developed, open-source, and third-party-purchased tools.
- Alongside the rest of the team, work closely with business stakeholders to ensure our solutions meet requirements, meet quality goals, and deliver optimal performance.
- Provide quality assurance leadership within the team and the broader ATC Development department.
- Champion the overall testing strategy for the team and department.
- Determine appropriate metrics that enable the team to understand and continuously improve their processes, techniques, and technologies from a quality perspective.
- Enhance, improve, and augment a suite of automated tests built in an appropriate end-to-end testing framework that covers wwt.com and other applications in the ecosystem.
- Steer the team towards collaborative, cohesive testing that results in the highest quality software.
- Foster an environment where automated integration, load tests, performance testing, and UI tests are comprehensive to ensure the quality of a large-scale system.
- Execute manual testing to ensure production readiness and create automated UI and integration tests.
- Design tests that clearly convey the business rules and code they are checking (i.e., manual User Story tests or Automated E2E Tests) so that both business users and developers can understand their intentions.
- Have the leading voice in whether or not a feature or release candidate is in a solid enough state to go to production.
- Play the role of the “voice of the user,” providing testing and usability feedback to developers and business users early in the iteration to guide development.
- Perform exploratory testing, cross-browser, and boundary testing of new and existing features.
- Carry out root-cause analysis of defects when they occur.
- Be a catalyst for change, ask questions, and challenge others.
- Collaborate with developers on creating testable "Definition of Done" acceptance criteria for each User Story.
- Provide clarity to stories, including asking questions about functional and non-functional requirements and advocating for a good user experience.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement process.
- Exhibit a passion for technology and continuous learning.
- Have a leadership presence within the Quality Assurance virtual team within the ATC Development department.
Qualifications:
- Understanding and knowledge of quality assurance processes and methods used in agile software development.
- Comfortable with different platforms such as websites, mobile apps, and backend APIs
- Experience using technologies for detecting and tracking software defects.
- Team-oriented, possessing strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated in the pursuit of new skills and an understanding of software design and quality engineering.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on continual improvement
- Comfortable presenting to groups of peers
- 5 years of experience with quality assurance and testing of software applications
- Strong knowledge of and experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience with functional and non-functional software testing techniques
- Understanding of the principles of creating easily modifiable and extensible automated tests
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, etc.)
- Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, Lighthouse, etc.)
- Experience using continuous integration build tools (e.g., Jenkins, Codefresh, GitHub Actions)
- Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.)
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and the ability to use tools such as POSTMAN to perform data verification and set up test data.
- Experience leading small to medium-sized projects.
