Overview The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, availability, maintenance, support, documentation, backup, security, and overall subject matter expertise of the following systems, broken into three categories : Office Headquarters Networking, Azure Infrastructure Networking, and Multi-site, multi-cloud networking along with additional duties.
Salary : The expected compensation range for this position is $126,600 - $181,900.
Responsibilities : Major Function
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, availability, maintenance, support, documentation, backup, security, and overall subject matter expertise of the following systems, broken into three categories : Azure Infrastructure Networking, Multi-site, multi-cloud networking, and Office Headquarters Networking along with additional duties.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Infrastructure Networking :
- Advanced understanding of hub-and-spoke network design across multiple VNETs
- Azure subnet routing with multiple-hop design
- VM connectivity to both east-west and north-south
- Active-active virtual firewall management (Palo Alto)
- VPN connectivity for user traffic (Palo Alto)
- Peer-to-peer connectivity between Azure and remote locations
- Azure load balancers
- VNET configuration and peering
- Subnet configuration
- Network security group configuration
- Route table management
- Virtual network gateways
Multi-site, Multi-cloud Networking :
Remote site, satellite office firewalls and switchesConnectivity between multiple cloud infrastructure environments such as Azure to Azure, Azure to AWS, Azure to Google Cloud, etc..Connectivity between WWF network and vendor private networksOffice Headquarters Networking :

Vendor management of internet service providers, vendor support, equipment replacement, etc.Provide after-hours support for scheduled on-call hours, along with availability for critical outages both planned and unplanned.Operates as part of the tier-three support team for the IT department.Qualifications : Skills and Abilities
MUST HAVE 10 years of experience supporting enterprise-level networks.
MUST HAVE experience managing Azure networking infrastructure both supporting existing and designing new. And an in-depth understanding of networking principles (OSI model, subnetting), protocols (TCP / IP), and architectures.Ability to analyze packet captures and network traces.Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve multicast, streaming, and TCP / UDP-related issues.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.Must be able to climb ladders / pull cables and maintain / dress cabling and equipment in datacenter racks and network closets.Relevant networking certifications a plus.Azure certifications a plus.Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Mellanox, and Aruba switches a plus.Experience and knowledge with scripting a plus.Linux and MacOS experience a plusCommitted to building and strengthening a culture of inclusion within and across teams.Identifies and aligns with WWFs core values :COURAGE We demonstrate courage through our actions, we work for change where its needed, and we inspire people and institutions to tackle the greatest threats to nature and the future of the planet, which is our home.
