Technical Service Associate

This critical position will provide support for to WWE Customers and End Users in the areas of Motor Control Products including loose controls, enclosed starters, variable frequency drives, soft starters, and across the line starter packages. The Technical Service Associate will also support Application Engineering for assigned duties. Strong communication skills and the ability to empathize are required as this position will be working with customers with varying skill levels who are installing or trouble-shooting WWE Motor Controls Equipment in the field.

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide front-line technical phone support for WWE customers and end users.
• Log incoming service calls and document trends.
• Support inside and outside sales with any technical or product information.
• Assist department with creation and organization of product support collateral.
• Work with Application Engineering and Product Management to improve available product application information.
• Help define other needs in the Support / Service Department.
• Additional duties may be assigned from time to time as necessary.

Qualifications

• A technical competence in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Motor Controls, and/or Industrial Automation, at a technician's level, minimum.
• 3 years of experience in controls, drives or motor applications engineering or equivalent experience.
• The ability to work troubleshoot and solve field start-up and product failure application issues.
• A strong empathy for the customer.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical documents (schematics and drawings).
• Previous experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
