Job Summary
The Lead Technician is the main responder to emergency situations. They carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for the electrical and mechanical system. This will be done during the dwell periods in between the flights and in the other non-operational hours. Lead Technician coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in meeting or exceeding the delivery of service mandated by the company, customer, and contractual requirements. Highly motivated individual that can supervise and motivate operational personnel. Provides technical guidance as required. Ensures work is progressing according to contract requirements and in compliance with established standards related to safety, security, and other personnel related matters. Train and mentor employees in performance of their assigned duties. Assist General Manager, evaluate performance standards of assigned employees. Coordinate activities of staff and customers relative to specification changes, modifications, and quality assurance. Monitors adherence to good housekeeping, safety regulations and takes appropriate corrective actions to correct unsafe work practices or hazardous situations. Performs other duties, which may be deemed necessary by management. The scope of the job may vary with the size of the operation and its primary line of business.
Responsibilities
- Maintain superior customer service and safe working practice at ALL times.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling equipment and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals and manufacturer's specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Inspect diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
- Communicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems.
- Analyze root causes of Electrical failures and propose remedy and resolution as well as continuous monitoring for ways to improve and optimize the system.
- Interpret schematics and engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s).
- React to call outs from the Control Room Operator or manager executing service calls CM, PM and EM.
- Preventive Maintenance - Inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement and prepare follow-up CM work orders if needed.
