Purpose of the Job:
Manage assigned salespeople and teams on a day-to-day basis to ensure all sales activities are successfully completed. Responsible for the development of sales team, solicitation, onboarding and retention of new business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify new customer opportunities for transactional, Transportation Management System (TMS) and full outsourcing services
- Collaborate with assigned Logistics Director’s POD to ensure they have a productive pipeline of business
- Host weekly 1:1’s with direct reports to ensure they are progressing through the sales process and addressing needs as they arise
- Coach first, player second mentality
- Assist and facilitate in lead generation for assigned salespeople
- Facilitate and help salespeople progress their sales pipeline throughout the sales process
- In conjunction with the Operations and Sales, design materials, presentations, sales proposals, and contracts for potential customers
- Responsible for keeping sales pipeline and reports up-to-date and accurately forecasting future business
- Provide to assigned Logistics Director’s POD, accurate, and consistent reporting on each salesperson’s lead generations, including activities and results
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of services offered, logistics industry, market conditions and competitor strategies
- Participate in networking and sales events
- Ensure team performance and individual growth goals are progressing as defined by the assigned budgetary growth goals and slope
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 5 years of supply chain or third party logistics experience
- Individual Sales Experience with proven track record of success
- Computer literate (including MS Office)
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Knowledge of basic business principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptive, goal driven, resilient, tenacious, persuasive, strategic, self motivated
- Occasional travel required
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or combination of related experience and education
