We are seeking a motivated Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will have the opportunity to :
Description
- Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid / project as assigned.
- Review incoming bid solicitations for relevancy and fit. Maintain an updated bid schedule.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Assist in preparation of preliminary schedules as necessary for estimates.
- Prepare detailed takeoffs.
- Consult with clients, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to develop a complete scope of work and estimate.
- Work with engineers to develop bid designs for delegated design scopes.
- Obtain knowledge of project and appropriate regulations required to construct the project.
- Review and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize and maintain historical data in preparation of bids.
- Monitor client changes and advise the estimating team of all changes in scope during the estimate period.
- Follow awarded contracts as assigned - may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits.
- Work with the project management team on final buyout of materials and subcontractors.
- Prepare turnover packages for awarded projects for project management team.
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current / accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Search and analyze options for most effective means and methods of construction.
- Understand best value approach to winning new work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
