WRAP is a well-established Arlington, VA based global nonprofit. WRAP engages a range of stakeholders including buyers, suppliers, NGOs, and workers to validate worker conditions through audit, certification, and education. WRAP is the largest independent certification program for sewn goods, apparel, textiles, and related industries. Our Board of Directors and staff across the globe work every day to support companies striving to improve their factories, operations, and the longevity of their brands.

 

Position Overview:

The Marketing & Communications Director will play a critical role in developing and executing the communications strategy to enhance brand awareness and support business development initiatives. This position will oversee and manage external communications, including media relations, executive communications, social media, and marketing with the goal of driving awareness and understanding of WRAP’s vision, initiatives, and performance among a variety of stakeholders. This position will also involve creating, managing, and analyzing content across various digital platforms and print mediums, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals. In addition, this position will support and collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership team and provide the staff at-large regular updates and insights regarding the day-to-day, short-term, and long-term activities and goals of WRAP.


Key Responsibilities:

1.     Communications Project Management

·      Develop an organization-wide Communications Plan in partnership with the WRAP senior management team outlining the overall communications strategy for WRAP; measure, report on, and update the plan annually.

·      Maintain editorial, graphic, and branding standards for all communications.

2.     Content Creation & Management

·      Serve as the primary author of newsletters; continuously revamp content to engage stakeholders.

·      Develop and manage content for marketing campaigns, including meeting/ /webinar/event promotional materials, website copy, blog posts, development collateral, and other communications materials.

·      Lead content development and production for new WRAP initiatives.

3.     Social Media & Digital Strategy

·      Develop and manage content strategy and calendars across social media platforms.

·      Create engaging social media content and integrate it with other public facing content.

·      Manage web presence, including page development, content creation, website edits, and performance analysis.

4.     Marketing Campaigns

·      Plan, execute, and analyze marketing campaigns to increase the reach and exposure of WRAP globally.

·      Create and manage email campaigns, including planning, drafting, and scheduling.

·      Track engagement and deliver monthly reports on campaign performance and recommend changes.


Qualifications

·      The ideal candidate will have 8 to 10 years working in nonprofit and/or corporate communication with expertise in at least one of the following areas: marketing, public relations, journalism, or media.

·      A background in leadership and mission-driven work.

·      Versatile writer with the ability to write in a variety of formats (e.g., talking points, web copy, eblasts, blog posts).

·      Keen attention to detail.

·      Excellent writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.

·      The ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple short-term and long-term projects and deadlines.

·      Strong interpersonal and organizational skills that cultivate creativity, collaboration, and transparency.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite, and social media platforms.

·      Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.


This position will report directly to the Senior Leadership Team and is hybrid with 2/3 days a week in the Arlington, VA HQ offices.
