Senior Director, Remuneration - Americas
Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Director, Remuneration - Americas is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous management and evaluation of the company's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive structures, and performance management programs across the Americas region.
This role is pivotal in ensuring remuneration strategies align with business objectives, comply with legal standards, and support the attraction and retention of top talent. The Senior Director will serve as a strategic partner to senior management and business partners, providing expert consultation and driving initiatives that enhance the organization's overall compensation framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the compensation budget for business lines within the Americas, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with corporate goals.
- Provide consultative support to business leaders, offering data-driven insights and best-practice recommendations on remuneration matters.
- Exhibit strong commercial acumen, understanding the impact of compensation decisions on business operations and financial outcomes.
- Adapt to changing business priorities, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in managing shifting demands and expectations.
- Lead and influence remuneration policy development, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic direction and market competitiveness.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including Human Resources, Finance, Business Sector Leaders, and Line Managers, to ensure cohesive execution of remuneration strategies.
- Develop and oversee remuneration-related objectives, policies, and procedures that support organizational success.
- Effectively communicate and present complex compensation proposals and reports to executive leadership.
- Drive the development and implementation of remuneration systems, processes, and tools, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide leadership and mentorship within multi-cultural and multi-national environments, promoting an inclusive and participative management approach.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field or discipline; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in global or regional remuneration oversight and project management roles.
- Expertise: Recognized as a functional expert and thought leader in compensation and remuneration strategy.
- Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic remuneration programs and policies with a broad organizational impact.
- Decision-Making: Proven track record in managing multiple complex projects, influencing business decisions, and delivering results aligned with corporate strategy.
- Autonomy: Operates with broad managerial authority, making decisions within established organizational objectives and policies.
- Communication & Influence: Strong ability to effectively communicate and present complex information to executive leadership.
- Collaboration: Ability to work across functions and with senior leadership to align remuneration strategies with business priorities.
- Systems & Tools: Expertise in remuneration systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to develop and enhance compensation frameworks.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage ambiguity, embrace change, and drive continuous improvement in remuneration practices.
- Location: Candidates in the Houston metro/suburban region are strongly preferred. Other U.S. based candidates must be able to travel to Houston via a direct flight.
