Job Purpose:
Under direct supervision of more senior personnel, purchases mainly fleet equipment parts and mechanic shop equipment and supplies, and performs relevant procurement support functions. Assignments are clearly defined and require the application of standard purchasing techniques, procedures, and criteria. Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager.
This position is located at the Worley Alaska Inc. Anchorage Fabrication Shop and is a full-time, non-rotational position.
Essential Job Functions:
* Receives purchasing assignments from more senior staff.
* Reviews purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, obtains clarifications as necessary.
* Assists in the development of bidders lists and qualifications.
* Prepares and issues Requests for Quotation (RFQ's) for non-engineered, commodity items and services.
* Analyzes quotations, prepares bid tabs, and collaborates with immediate supervisor to compare bid offerings prior to making award recommendations.
* Issues purchase orders (POs) and change orders in a timely manner.
* Obtains acknowledgements and follows up on status of purchased items.
* Maintains accurate, comprehensive, and auditable PO, requisition, quote, approval, acknowledgement, and other relevant files, primarily in electronic and, as required, hard copy format.
* Updates Buyer's Log/Procurement Plan reports in Worley's fleet management system.
* Performs PO uploads into Worley's electronic materials/procurement/invoice management system.
* Takes corrective action concerning problems with purchase orders.
* Expedites materials, builds relationships with suppliers, develops routine cost information for estimating purposes.
* Contacts suppliers to resolve problems regarding billing or material delivery discrepancies.
* Prepares manifest and freight bill of material for the weekly Anchorage-Deadhorse consolidation truck.
* Gains experience and skill in Worley purchasing processes and procedures.
* Occasional travel to the North Slope.
* Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
* Ability to learn quickly.
* Possesses current knowledge of accounting/business development and organizational practices.
* Has strong analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills applicable to standards set by the organization.
* Possesses good computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc) skills.
* Ability to train within the Worley ERM system and Fleet Focus procurement system.
* Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
* Ability to establish and maintain rapport with co-workers, vendors, and client representatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
* One to two (1-2) years working knowledge/experience.
* High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
* Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Familiarity with equipment parts and mechanic shop supplies. * Prior procurement experience. |
