Overview:

First Baptist Church of Augusta, KS is seeking a dynamic worship leader to join our ministry team! The worship leader will play a vital role in facilitating worship experiences for our congregation while demonstrating the love of Jesus.

Qualifications:

• A committed follower of Jesus Christ and a passion for leading others in worship.
• The ability to lead congregational worship and play either piano or guitar is preferred.
• Familiarity with leading contemporary, blended, and hymn-based songs.
• Demonstrate strong musical skills.
• Able to engage congregants of diverse ages and backgrounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Committed to upholding the values and beliefs of First Baptist Church Augusta.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of worship services, midweek gatherings, and special events.
• Rehearse and train worship teams to ensure excellence in worship and spiritual engagement.
• Ability to utilize both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs.
• Lead the congregation in worship, while possibly playing guitar or keys.
• Nurture a culture of unity and worship that honors God and edifies the church body.
• Work in concert with the production team (Audio, Video, and Lighting - AVL).
• Support the vision of First Baptist Church Augusta.

First Baptist Church:

Worship Services: We have two services: A blended and a contemporary service. We meet for worship at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM.

• First Service: A “blended” service driven by hymns and some praise music, currently led by a praise team and accompanied by the piano and organ.
• Second Service: A “contemporary” service with a praise team and band – guitars, keyboard, and drums.

Church Ministries: We offer ministries for children, youth, adults, and families. Wherever you are at, you (and your family) will find a place to call home here at FBC Augusta!

Our Senior Pastor, Mac Martin: Mac and his wife, Brandi, were both born and raised in the Wichita area and have lived in the Augusta area for around 10 years now. They married back in 2013 and have grown their family by adoption through foster care. The Martins have been in the ministry for over 15 years. Mac and Brandi love the outdoors, national parks, and conversations about Jesus and life over quality coffee!

• Our Staff: We have an amazing staff here at FBC Augusta! Troy Taylor does an incredible job with the youth and Wanda Partin is wonderful with our children! We are now looking for God’s person to join our team as our worship leader!
• Worship Ministry Team Members: Our worship team members are gifted and dedicated volunteers and looking forward to following the leadership of our next worship leader. Join an amazing team of staff and volunteers that want to magnify Jesus through worship!
