One full-time bilingual assistant position to support students and families; proficiency in written and spoken Portuguese or Spanish and English required. This position work with students and families, but support the entire K-12 team. The position will work the day shift and occasional evening meetings, 6hrs per day on a 186 day calendar.
They are responsible for assisting the English Learner Program Leader and the Building Principal with various projects, providing support in content, literacy, and language for students from a range of language backgrounds, and acting as an interpreter in various school situations. Travel to different school sites is necessary.

Job Duties:
- Assists in the instruction of English Language Learners in cooperation with the English Language teacher and classroom teacher
- Works with students in small group or full classroom settings
- Strengthens connections between school staff and families
- Acts as an interpreter in various school situations, including parent conferences
- Travels to various school sites and other locations
- Assists health staff in securing needed information for each child
- Attends in-service, staff, evening meetings, orientation, and other special meetings
- Supports EL Teacher Leader with connections to community partners
- Reports to EL Teacher Leader for overall coordination of scheduling
- Performs other duties as assigned
