Insurance Verification Coordinator

Job Overview
The Insurance Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the medical office by managing insurance verification process. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is knowledgeable in medical coding and terminology, particularly ICD-9 and ICD-10. The Insurance Coordinator will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate effective communication and ensure timely processing of claims.

Duties

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments.
• Process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims with insurance companies.
• Maintain accurate and organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Utilize coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10) to ensure proper billing practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation for managed care.
• Assist patients with inquiries regarding their insurance coverage and billing questions.
• Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, procedures, and regulations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
