TEAM
The ADAS Simulation and Validation Tools group accelerates the development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (L2-L4) software by providing robust simulation technology, cloud infrastructure, and automated testing workflows. Our solutions empower global development teams to validate complex systems at scale, ensuring efficient, high-confidence software releases. We collaborate across simulation development, data analysis, and cloud execution frameworks, solving challenges in scalability, automation, and performance validation to support cutting-edge ADAS programs.
A critical part of these widely used workflows are data automation pipelines which ingest, transform, and correlate on-road and simulated driving data. This data powers simulation experiments and data analytics web applications that are essential to continuously improving our driving systems and providing feedback to business leaders.
Who Are We Looking For
We are seeking an experienced backend engineer with a strong emphasis on data engineering and data analytics. The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale data ETL pipelines, data schema design, web servers and APIs, cloud infrastructure, and test automation. They will be responsible for driving the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native workflows for large scale simulation and evaluation of ADAS software, comprising analytics web applications, test orchestration, metrics aggregation, ETL pipelines, and traceability solutions. By championing best practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring developers, you will play a key role in building our mission-critical AD/ADAS tools.

Responsibilities
Data and backend software engineering
- Design and implement data schemas and scalable and performant backend data automation workflows for AD/ADAS data.
- Design and implement web server backend APIs that power data analytics web applications.
- Optimize components for end-to-end automation, from ingestion to end-user tools.
- Collaborate closely with the Product team and internal customers to optimize workflows and user experience.
- Work with other engineers to design interfaces and land end-to-end value.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior developers and interns on the team.
- Experience with the full software lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, documentation, release, and maintenance.
- Implement robust testing using tools to ensure component and application reliability.
- Promote best practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure consistency and quality across the codebase.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of professional software development experience in backend web services and data pipelines.
- Extensive experience with Python in a web and data context
- Extensive experience with SQL and data schema design.
- Extensive experience with data ingestion and ETL pipelines.
- Experience working with different data formats such as pydantic, protobufs, JSON, etc.
- Familiarity with NoSQL database systems such as DynamoDB.
- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques in various database systems
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Exceptional problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
- Experience mentoring more junior engineers.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with microservice and serverless cloud architectures.
