WOW Logistics is now hiring for an Solutions Engineering Intern!
As an Intern, you will work with our Engineering team to support both the Operations and Sales teams on current projects. Some of these projects will be the review of new and existing operational challenges, development of customer supply chain solutions, assisting in pricing new business, helping to drive continuous improvements, among other project needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support core functionality of the engineering team while looking for opportunities for improvement
- Develop a keen understanding of engineering functions and major roles and responsibilities
- Engage in all training, development and educational opportunities provided
- Participate in cross-functional teams supporting process improvement projects
- Apply creative problem-solving skills to assigned work; communicate insights and synthesize conclusions
- Support engineering team with development of new pricing and solutions models
- Audit and updates of existing facility layouts
- Maintain and update facility storage modifier data
- Validation of project scope, and report out any scope variances
- Analysis and development of processes workflows
- Assist in development of labor management system through time studies and process audits
- Data analysis across multiple business functional areas: sales and customer support, labor and equipment utilization, inventory trending, continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in maintenance and updating of WMS values as it relates to engineering responsibility: item setup, rate and charge codes, locations
Qualifications:
- Safety focused with the courage to question practices to keep self and others safe
- Pursuing Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or related discipline
- Must have exceptional analytical skills and be able to work with complex data
- Ability to work independently in a warehouse setting
- Detail oriented with the ability to work with speed and accuracy
- Able to effectively create relationships with warehouse operations personnel
- Must be a self-motivated, analytical and independent thinker
- Able to synthesize multiple pieces of information and act decisively
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent problem solving, organization and planning skills
- High proficiency in tools used for data analysis such as Excel is a must; AutoCAD is a plus
- Occasional travel within Wisconsin may be required
