We’re seeking a story-telling maestro to join our Communications team as Public Relations Manager, Lead to take industry trends and company differentiators and transform them into strategic positioning and compelling narratives that amplify our news, elevate our perspectives and earn us recognition in the press and industry awards.

This is a hybrid role based in Austin, Texas.

Key Responsibilities :

Thought Leadership Development - Collaborate with the communications leadership to ideate and develop thought leadership initiatives that reinforce WP Engine’s market leadership position.
Media Relations :

Support managing PR Agency to secure media coverage in key outlets

Monitor trends and identify opportunities

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the press, news media, and outside partnerships.

Pitch and secure media coverage in top-tier outlets

Handle general press inquiries and requests

Press Release content. Work with internal stakeholders to develop news and story angles around new product launches, partnerships, executive appointments, industry recognition, providing counsel on messaging and positioning of interest to media and investor audiences.

Story Pitch and Byline Article Development. Develop compelling stories to gain earned media attention from IT press and top-tier media.

PR Reporting. Oversee and generate media coverage analytics and reports.

Awards & Recognition. Research industry award opportunities and lead application process to enhance WP Engine’s industry recognition.

Industry-focused. Monitor competitor and industry news and identify topics for pitching and trendjacking opportunities.

Relationship Management. Existing relationships with business and tech media journalists.

Industry Passion for the intersection of Technology and Marketing. Background experience or interest in working for a Tech company in the site building, WordPress, web content management systems, or digital experience platform categories.

Effective Time Management. You know the value of planning ahead and of structured and unstructured time. You manage your calendar carefully to use both to your advantage. Because you thrive working in a fast environment, you’re comfortable with hitting tight deadlines and calmly changing direction as priorities change.

Attention to Detail and focus. You enjoy distilling complex topics into easy-to-read pieces of content for the layperson.

Experience. 10 years of related experience, either in-house or agency-side, are necessary for the job. A B2B technology company and / or agency is highly desirable.

Base Salary Range : $120,000.00 - $180,000.00

We believe that compensation should be reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position nationwide. The actual base pay will vary based on various factors including job-related skills and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
