What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Receiver position at WP Rawl?

This position will assist in achieving QA departmental goals, while monitoring, recording and ensuring compliance with quality specifications and food safety standards. Pay is $17.00 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect all incoming raw materials and ingredients according to WPR and customer specifications.
- Execute daily Quality Assurance tasks at set frequencies in an accurate professional manner.
- Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders, and internal team members.
- Verify regulatory compliance for all private label items and materials, including product labels, marketing materials, signage, and specifications.
- Identify and assess potential food safety hazards and quality defects.
- Monitor and record product specifications.
- Monitor and record receiving activities that directly correlates with job duties.
- Follow through with non-conformity reports when production is out of compliance with quality and/or food safety limits.
- Actively involved in Food Safety and Quality Assurance Programs.
- Follow through with corrective actions when products are out of compliance or do not meet set specifications.
- Communicate immediately with QA Manager, Production Supervisors and Shipping Supervisors when products are out of compliance or do not meet set specification.
- Ensure compliance of SOP, GMP and company policies.
- Cover and/or assist QA Techs when necessary.
- Effectively work alongside Production team and other members of the Quality Assurance team to develop and maintain a robust and effective food safety and quality system.
- Perform research and investigations in QA receiving matters.
- Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 1 - 3 years’ experience
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift the majority of the day
- Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
- Must have a flexible schedule
- Must be able to point out defects that occur with fresh vegetables
- Math is used daily, must be comfortable with the basics
- Ability to work in a cold wet environment (36-38 ºF)
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to loud noise
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Requires standing, and walking on concrete flooring
- Environment is wet
