The Quality Control Tech will assist in achieving QA departmental goals and efficiencies while monitoring, recording, and ensuring compliance with Food Safety specifications and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record HACCP critical control points CCP1 (Free chlorine and acid) and CCP2 (metal detectors).
- Monitor and record process control points (weights, defects, stems, verify PTI labels, temperatures, verify BBD, Verify PO#/ LOT, etc.) condensation, and disinfectant areas (foot baths & hand wash stations and door foamers) throughout the production floor.
- Calibrate and verify all QA equipment.
- Monitor and adjust metal detectors as required.
- Follow through with corrective actions when product is out of compliance with quality and/or food safety limits. Communicate immediately with QA Supervisor and Production Supervisor.
- Perform ATP testing, Environmental swabs & Pre-operation inspections.
- Perform sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment as required.
- Wash and disinfect equipment as required.
- Ensure employees are in compliance of SOP, GMP and Company policies
- Actively involved in Food Safety and Quality Programs
- Highly involved in internal and third party audits.
- Other duties as assigned by the QA Supervisor and/or QA Manager
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Detail oriented and strong observational skills
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets government regulations, professional journals, research papers, and company policies.
- Strong communication skills with ability to make decisions and solve problems.
- Drive continuous improve while demonstrating strong work ethic
- Multitasking (tech will be required to cover different stations at the same time)
- Attention to detail and organizational skills, a must.

- Reliable transportation
Work Conditions:
QA/QC Tech will spend majority of time in the production area. Production Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 36-38 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Exposure to loud noise
- May do some light lifting
- Heavy forklift traffic
- Requires standing and walking on concrete flooring
- Requires working full shift on the production floor.
- Heavy lifting (QA tech will be required to move 15 gallons chemical drums as needed)
