CNC Programmer (Mastercam)Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in setting up and programming CNC machines to produce precision components. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and proficiency in measuring and inspecting machined parts to ensure they meet specifications. Key Responsibilities :
- Set up and program CNC lathes and Mills to produce metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates to optimize machining processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders to determine machining sequences.
- Measure and inspect machined parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and tooling to maintain tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to improve processes and resolve machining challenges.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized workspace.Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a CNC programmer / Setup machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce precise, high-quality components.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Excellent measuring skills using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and dial indicators.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and machining techniques.
- Ability to set up machines, including tooling selection and workpiece alignment.
- Understanding of basic shop mathematics and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machining issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality control procedures.Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with CNC programming and G-code editing.
- Familiarity with different materials, including stainless steels, inconel, and other difficult to machine materials
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.Work Environment :
- Standing for extended periods while operating machinery.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and industrial lubricants.
