Job Purpose:
Under direct supervision of the Department Supervisor, this position is in training capacity to determine suitability for control work.
Job Duties:
- Balance employer and self-pay remittances and reports, ensuring all data is entered accurately.
- Learn and have proven ability to maintain employer and self-pay billing rate files.
- Learn to and exhibit the ability to communicate discrepancies with remittances to outside parties.
- Learn to and take over the monitoring and maintenance of employer delinquencies and collection matters.
- Learn, understand and monitor employer collective bargaining agreements ensuring administrative procedures comply with, Trust rules, and federal or state regulations.
- Use customer service skills, both written and telephonic, to provide helpful information, answer questions and resolve complaints.
- Must show continuous improvement, ability to increase volume of workload, ability to work independently, and as a productive team member.
- Provide support to other team members.
- Actively learns to perform duties as described for position title "Data Controller" to come out of trainee classification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
- 2 years of general office experience.
- Working knowledge of basic office equipment.
- Professional appearance with excellent communication skills both verbal and written, to communicate effectively with the public, union representatives, outside agencies, insurance carriers and employers.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with management, coworkers, and staff in other departments.
- Demonstrates ability to keep calm and positive within all communications.
- Proven track record of excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Proven ability to maintain a positive mental attitude under demanding and/or stressful situations.
- Proven ability to accurately and timely review and edit documents.
- Utilize computer and phone systems to be able to effectively perform the essential functions of the position.
- Previous experience utilizing Microsoft office software
- High school diploma or G.E.D
Preferred qualification:
- 1 year of office experience in an accounting office or in a role that was an accounting capacity.
- 2 years of college experience in a related field- do not have to have an associate degree.
