Repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines in the shop as assigned by the Service Manager.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Must be able to perform shop overhauls
- Must be able to perform small generator repair
- Must be able to perform standby generator repair
- Must be able to perform generator troubleshooting
- Understands compressions and can do repairs
- Understands pneumatic engine controls
- Understands all phases of gas engine ignition systems
- Must understand general engine machine work fundamentals
- Stay informed of the changes in various models of equipment
- Through evaluation must be able to suggest/recommend any other required repairs
- Promote good welfare among the company and its’ divisions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have 3 year(s) previous experience
- Must have G.E.D. High School Diploma, prefer applied certification (s) job description
- Certification in VHP technology and VGF technology preferred
- Must meet all of the qualifications of a Service Tech Class B
- Must have basic electrical knowledge
- Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its’ objectives
- Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
- Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company
- Must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving company vehicle.
- Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirement as outlined by the Department of Transportation.
- Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend and twist several times a day
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days
- Must maintain good client relations
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
- Must have the ability to travel and stay overnight
- Must possess troubleshooting skills
- Must have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment
- Must have the ability to obtain advanced manufacture certifications
- Must protect the company assets and interests
- Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Weekend hours as necessary
- Outside work as required
