Job Summary

The RBT will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to one student within the general education classroom as prescribed by Wraparound Experts and the principal of the school. The RBT will collect data on programs, assist with parent training, and assist the BCBA with clinical assessment as needed. In particular, the role involves assisting in the design, implementation, and monitoring of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for individuals with developmental and behavioral challenges. The RBT will work under the supervision of a BCBA. Essential components of this position are listed below; however, these are not exhaustive and subject to change at the discretion of Wraparound Experts.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must hold at minimum a high school diploma; however, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a field related to psychology, counseling, behavioral therapy, or speech therapy is preferred.
  • Must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Valid driver's license, required.
  • Pass and maintain clear BCI and FBI background checks, required.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is required.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care.
  • Enjoy working and playing with children.
  • Tolerate working with children who may be aggressive (e.g. hit, kick, spit and scratch).
  • Possess the ability to frequently move about and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Possess the ability to work with children on the floor.
  • Collaborative, constructive team building skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed by the supervising BCBA. Follow the prescribed behavioral skills acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Utilize positive reinforcement and other ABA techniques to promote skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
  • Collect accurate and detailed data on client progress on IEP and behavior plan goals. Maintain organized and up-to-date records in compliance with organizational and ethical standards.
  • Assist in analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of intervention plans.
  • Assist with teacher/school staff and parent training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Effectively communicate with teachers/staff and parents regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA.
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and supervision meetings as required.
  • Adhere to the ethical guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
