Job Title: Deputy Director
Reports to: CEO
Position Overview:
The Deputy Director serves as the primary support to the Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization and ensuring alignment with the strategic goals, policies, and regulations. This role is pivotal in managing staff, programs, and services, and requires strong leadership and strategic planning skills. The Deputy Director will act as a key liaison between departments and external partners, contributing to the financial, operational, and programmatic success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to the Chief Executive Director in implementing the organization's strategic plan, programs, and services.
- Oversee departmental operations, including program management, budgeting, human resources, and compliance.
- Ensure all programs adhere to federal, state, and local laws, including California labor regulations and other relevant standards.
- Supervise and mentor department heads, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Monitor and report on organizational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Act as a representative of the organization in meetings, negotiations, and public events as needed.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements, fiscal policies, and other funding source regulations.
- Develop and manage the organization’s budget, working closely with the finance team to ensure financial stability and sustainability.
- Lead efforts to improve organizational systems and processes for better efficiency and impact.
Required Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in Nonprofit Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a nonprofit or government organization, delivering services in intimate partner violence and sexual assault, with a proven track record of effective management and organizational development.
- Extensive knowledge of nonprofit compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, lead teams, and foster partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing organizational budgets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
- High level of emotional intelligence and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in program evaluation and performance measurement.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment:
This role requires a combination of office work and external meetings/events. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on organizational needs.

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
