Operator/Laborer

Job Summary
This role involves operating a punch press and performing operations in the required sequence to produce parts. Verifies the quality of the parts and the sequence of actions required to produce them, while maintaining safe work conditions. Responsibilities

• Active involvement in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Produce parts as assigned by the supervisor or lead person and according to the needed sequence.
• Ensure the quality of parts produced is equal to the sample part if there is one.
• Records all necessary job information including start and stop time, number of parts produced, the status of the job, location of finished parts, etc.
• Ensures initial and periodic safety checks are completed.
• Ensures periodic part inspection is performed.
• Compliance with all company policies.
• Notifies supervisor (or lead person) immediately if/when problems, concerns, safety issues, or questions occur.
• Keeps work area clean and free of hazards.
• Follows special job instructions as communicated by supervisor or lead person or as on job card.
• Employee may be required to rotate into other positions as directed by supervisor.
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead person.

Experience

• Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Effective communication with peers, and management.
• Works well with others to solve problems.
• Basic Math skills.
• Blueprint reading skills.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• Able and willing to perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to read English as required for interpreting job cards and prints.
• Safety and quality minded.
• Willing to wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Works under moderate supervision and exercises little discretion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
