General Definition of Work
Assistant Probation Officers are responsible for assisting Probation Officers with case management duties for adult and juvenile offenders. They also provide additional assistance to Court Services' Agents, the Court, and wRight Choice, as requested. Assistant Probation Officers lead the juvenile diversion program and are the primary point of contact for Court Services' Truancy Program.
Essential Functions
Duties and Major Areas of Responsibility :
- Lead juvenile alternative sanctions.
- Assist in the collection and monitoring of random chemical testing.
- Assist with supervision and monitoring of low-risk offenders.
- Assist with adult and juvenile Electronic Home Monitoring (EHM).
- Assist with juvenile and adult diversion program.
- Adult pretrial bail evaluations.
- Assist in administering programming in the department.
- Assist in providing case management to truancy, juvenile and adult diversion.
- Assist in instruction and supervision of wRight Choice.

Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Corrections or related field or two-year degree and four years related experience. Prefer experience in working with juveniles and communities.
Authority :
Directly responsible to the Director of Court Services and Pre-Trial Supervisor, which are administrative positions directly responsible to the Tenth Judicial District Court.
