What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Wright & Morrissey, Inc.?
Job Summary:
-Responsible for monthly preparation of financial statements to include reconciliation of various general ledger accounts, bank statements, investment accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable accounts.
-Review specification manuals for construction projects to determine insurance requirements, billing requirements, subcontract attachments, and other project specific documentation.
-Assist Construction Project Managers with budgets for projects through job cost accounting procedures.
-Accounts Receivable preparation for contractual projects and time & material/cost-plus projects.
-Accounts Payable processing of invoices and payments to subcontractors & suppliers.
-Analyze, project, and prepare monthly estimates for workers compensation, general liability, and other insurances; prepare monthly journal entries required for monthly financial statements.
-Assist management with special projects as needed.
-Responsible for regulatory reporting requirements to ensure reports are filed by due dates imposed by various agencies
-Prepare & oversee annual audits for company insurance (workers compensation, etc.) & in-house audit
-Maintain service agreements for office machines, information technology, software licensing, and other office programs.
-Company contact person for inquiries related to advertising, contributions, and various other service-related issues and/or out of the ordinary issues that need attention.
Pay:

Required Education & Experience:
-Associates Degree & 3 years’ experience in accounting
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with finance management, accounting systems, Excel & Word; Organized, attentive to detail while maintaining accuracy & efficiency through prioritizing projects with common sense decision making; Effective communicator and problem solver with excellent writing skills; Ability to work independently or as a team player with strong leadership qualities.
