Regional Manager
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all traffic control services provided to the client is reliable, on-time, well trained, and safe to ensure an organized operation.
The position will oversee operations in all assigned offices in the region including field staff, Dispatchers, Office Administrators, and Operations Managers. The Regional Manager will be expected to meet with existing client as well as recruit new clients within the region, expanding its growth. This position is hybrid, both in-office and remote, allowing for 1-2 weeks of travel per month.
This position reports directly to the Director assigned to the area.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of operations of the Traffic Control division within your assigned region, including scheduling, project management, and customer service/satisfaction.
- Responsible for hiring, approving terminations, and terminating employees
- Complete written reports as required on vehicular deficiencies, accidents, incidents, complaints, and other issues as may be required from time to time.
- Expected to know routes, schedules, DOT Regulations, CHP compliance, ADA guidelines, conduct regular safety meetings, and maintain high morale to foster teamwork
- Responsible for assisting your team as required, i.e. complaint issues, accidents, and/or injuries, schedule drivers, etc.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operations efficiency, increase revenue, and reduce costs
- Oversee all accidents with proper investigation and report them to Human Resources, Fleet, and Safety, as required, in a timely fashion
- Responsible for ensuring all vehicles are always kept clean and in good condition with your team leaders’ involvement
- Knows and follows the safety and health rules, as well as safe working practices applicable to Traffic Control
- Proactive, well-organized, and able to manage multiple projects
- Must maintain equal presence in all assigned offices in the region and visit on a regular basis
- Review minutes of weekly meetings, Field Supervisor meetings, and Monthly Safety meetings
- Review reports from Operations Managers
- Conduct weekly meetings with all Operations Managers
- Time spent working will be 50% in the office, 25% in the field, and 25% with client relations
- Must maintain contact with clients ensuring that all jobs are safe and responded to in a timely manner
- Review opportunities and develop strategic plan to acquire new business
- Continuously assess and improve processes to increase productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Help facilitate relationships with offices and Business Development Specialist
- Work to improve existing client relations
- Review and approve all purchases made in all assigned offices
- Purchase/order all field equipment for your offices
- Maintain and estimate all reporting offices’ need for vehicles and communicate with supervisor
- Contribute on weekly and bi-weekly conference calls with upper management
- Be able to generate daily reports in various formats
- Have a general knowledge of all job functions for direct reports
- Must be able to respond (as required) to emergency call outs
- Must be able to work various shifts (day, evening, nights, weekends) as required
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements/Skills
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in “transportation service”.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred, will consider a mix of education, prior experience, and military training in lieu of a college degree
- Demonstrated experience in managing a large team and improving operations processes
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and have reliable transportation
- Working after standard business hours, on weekend, and holidays as needed
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings
- Required to adhere to all policies and procedures
Certifications
- Complete ATSSA, TCT, TCS, and Defensive Driver classes within 6 months of hire
- Complete monthly trainings distributed from corporate
