ABOUT THE COMPANY: Formed from the merger of Wright Tree Care and Heard Gardens, Wright Outdoor Solutions has been caring for Central Iowa’s outdoor spaces since 1928. In 2013, we purchased local Iowa company The Growing Concern, which allowed us to take our services indoors as well. JOB SUMMARY: The Operations Manager supervises a team of employees and their crews, while being responsible for the proper administration, communication, and enforcement of supervisory and economic work practices such as policy enforcement, quality and quantity of work production, adherence to and enforcement of safety practices, other employee relations responsibilities, and interpretation and application of applicable industry standards if applicable.

- Assist in producing financial goals; implement controls over spending and production to ensure adherence to the budget
- Hire and onboard new employees with assistance from HR support
- Manage, mentor and develop crew members
- Monitor company equipment, tools and vehicles for needed maintenance
- Forecast equipment, labor and material needs to ensure efficient production
- Manage production, crews, job sites, equipment and inventory
- Perform property audits to ensure that the highest quality standards are achieved
- Prioritize workload, establish and meet goals and deadlines, and assess progress for assigned work
- Establish good communication and a positive working relationship with staff, Clients, and vendors
- Collaborate with team to ensure success of services
- Ensure that work is being completed, within budget and safety guidelines while also meeting our quality standards
- Create reports encompassing production, profit, and goals to present to management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Five (5) years of experience in related fields
- Must have the ability to be proactive, plan and problem-solve to minimize disruption, errors, and risks
- Must have a 3OT Pesticide Applicators License or the ability to obtain one within 20 days of hire
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards or be willing to obtain one
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to reach, climb, kneel, lift (up to 50 lbs.) and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work and lead in a fast-paced environment
- Stay current on horticultural best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in all weather conditions to accommodate the seasonality of the industry
- Must be able to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
