Wright-Pierce, an award winning, employee-owned, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater and civil infrastructure is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our team in Clifton Park, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the technical execution of drinking water and wastewater projects within New York State and surrounding regions, including water source development, treatment, storage and distribution and/or wastewater collection, pumping and treatment.
This is a key position for the future success of our New York market with the potential for Wright-Pierce stock ownership based on qualifications and performance. This position also qualifies for our Incentive Compensation Program. These programs offer the opportunity for substantial rewards beyond a generous salary and benefits.
Salary Range is $110,000-$160,000/yr.
NOTE: Final salary is based on education, experience, certifications, and location.

Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and construction phases for drinking water and wastewater projects including water source, distribution, and storage projects, as well as wastewater collection, pumping and treatment
- Ensure all project requirements and deliverables are met on time and withing budget
- Perform hydraulic design for pumps and piping systems.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications and bid packages.
- Oversee pilot studies for water treatment projects.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with clients and internal teams.
- Manage project scheduling, production and quality control across all phases.
- Develop technical reports, cost proposals and other documentation.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering their growth and development.
- Contribute technical expertise to business development efforts
- Travel to office, client locations, and project sites as needed
- Participate in professional organizations relevant to the water and wastewater industry
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: 6-15 years of experience in drinking water and/or wastewater project engineering
- Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) required. Experience with Bluebeam is preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations and funding processes.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.

Education & Certifications
- Education: B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
