Customer Service Associate (Part-Time / Hourly)

Position Summary:

The Customer Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional service at the pastry counter, ensuring customers are informed about product details, availability, and pricing. This role involves taking orders, processing payments, maintaining product displays, rotating inventory, answering phones, and keeping the store area clean. The associate will also assist with packaging and managing the register while supporting a positive team culture.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


Customer Interaction

  • Provide prompt, friendly, and efficient service to customers.
  • Demonstrate superior customer service and a positive attitude to both customers and team members.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of product names, descriptions, prices, and availability to assist customers effectively.
  • Upsell and recommend additional products to enhance customer experience while maintaining efficient service.
  • Take accurate orders, ensuring clarity and attention to detail for customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and manage all aspects of order pickups.

Register and Payment Handling

  • Process sales transactions accurately, including handling cash, card payments, and providing correct change.
  • Balance the register drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Learn and effectively use the POS system to manage orders and transactions.

Product Maintenance and Display

  • Ensure product displays are full, organized, and visually appealing to attract customers.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for product rotation to ensure freshness and compliance with company guidelines.

Telephone and Workstation

  • Answer phone calls professionally, transferring them to the appropriate team member or department as needed.
  • Keep the workspace and customer service area clean, organized, and in compliance with health codes.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Comply with all health code regulations related to food service and customer safety.
  • Follow all relevant safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe work environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated through maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Adherence to the company dress code, maintaining an acceptable personal appearance.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including G Suite and POS operations.

  • No Travel is required for this position.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or relevant experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Position Information, Physical Demands, and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and perform other physical tasks throughout a shift.
  • Must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly.
  • This position operates in a retail environment and regularly utilizes standard retail and office equipment, such as digital cash registers, multi-line telephones, intercom systems, and computers.
  • This position requires on-site attendance due to the customer-facing and operational nature of the role.
