Our client is currently seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate to join the firm's Corporate & Securities Practice Group. The position is open to South Carolina, with a strong preference in Columbia.
'The firm's nationally- and internationally-recognized Private Wealth team is headquartered in the Carolinas. Candidates should have at least 3 to 6 years of experience working primarily in the field of estate planning and/or estate administration. Experience drafting estate planning documents and probate forms, including accountings, required by the probate court preferred. A willingness to learn areas of the law as necessary is required.
Candidates will support a sophisticated practice, serving ultra-high net worth clients. Preference will be given to candidates who have specific experience related to the foregoing - including drafting irrevocable trusts, investment partnerships (LLCs) and advanced transfer strategies - and/or who demonstrate a sincere interest in such tasks. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.
Candidates must be licensed in South Carolina. Having a LLM in either estate planning or tax is preferred.
