Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with Government, Customer, and ISO standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role works cross-functionally within the organization to document, uphold and improve process efficiency, contractual compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role will also be responsible for process mapping, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing corrective actions to enhance overall operational quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO and other industry standards.
  • Conduct process mapping and identify inefficiencies to enhance quality control and workflow optimization.
  • Refine and improve receiving
  • Interpret customer quality requirements and apply them to, or create internal controls to meet those requirements
  • Serve as lead POC for customer-facing quality concerns, including internal audits, PPAP coordination or other
  • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure vendor quality compliance.
  • Work with supply chain on supplier quality audits
  • Lead internal quality audits, analyze trends, and recommend corrective/preventative actions.
  • Develop and oversee quality control procedures, including inspection protocols and testing criteria.
  • Train and mentor employees on quality processes, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Work with project management and operations teams to align quality initiatives with business objectives.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and coordinate root cause analysis (RCA) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to quality performance metrics, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, or process improvement role.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards.
  • Experience in supplier quality management and vendor audits.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software (e.g., QMS platforms).
  • Government contract experience is strongly preferred.
  • Including WAWF, Flow Downs, First Article Testing, & ITAR
  • PPAP experience preferred
  • ISO 9001:105 experience preferred
  • Distribution experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Use hands and fingers on a regular basis.
  • Ability to speak, hear & understand English
  • Ability for eyes to quickly adjust and focus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
