Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Conduct animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide support in animal husbandry practices, including feeding and grooming.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Skills
- Minimum of 2 years veterinary experience.
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques and handling various species.
- Knowledgeable in veterinary practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Understanding of animal physiology and husbandry principles.
- Experience with exotics is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
