What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Director of Finance/Controller position at WS Management?
We are rebuilding our Sacramento based corporate team and are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Finance and Accounting Department. We are a passionate group of entrepreneurial-spirited hoteliers and are excited about the direction our company is going. We currently have 11 hotels open and operating and are looking to grow the portfolio over the next several years. Someone who is innately results-driven, detailed-oriented, motivated, and a self-starter will find a happy home here. The Corporate Controller is responsible for accounting functions for the organization which includes multiple hotel properties and several smaller businesses. In this position you will ensure timely and accurate financial data in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Uniform System of Accounts for Hotels 11th Edition.
- Responsible for general accounting including month-end closing and financials for properties and legal entities.
- Posts journal entries and reviews those made by other team members.
- Reviews reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and monthly and quarterly inventory reconciliation for accuracy.
- Participates in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process.
- Performs internal audit functions
- Oversees the Accounts Payable function
- Prepares and coordinates monthly and quarterly tax payments and reports with taxation authorities. Liaises with taxation department regarding all tax-related matters.
- Assists General Managers as needed with financial data as it relates to their hotels.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5 Years Controller/Financial Leadership experience
- Hotel Industry experience preferred but not required
- Multi-Unit experience preferred.
- Possess strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Salary : $105,000 - $125,000
