What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Construction Cost Estimator - Hybrid position at WSB LLC?
As a Construction Estimator, you will develop cost estimates from concept to bid submission; monitoring and reconciling the cost estimate as the design progresses; participate in pre-award value engineering and constructability review discussions; develop a fair and reasonable cost recommendation, review and participate in negotiation of changes with the contractor, support development of 4D and 5D schedules, and prepare the record of negotiation documentation. You will work with internal staff and external clients to develop proposals and relationships leading to growth of estimating services.

What You Will Do:
- Develop detailed cost estimates from engineering drawings, proactively identify deficiencies and/or questions, and actively assist the project team toward the answers for multiple phases of design completeness.
- Prepare dynamic construction quantity takeoffs detailing the materials required to complete a project for multiple phases of design completeness.
- Visit project to understand site conditions and restrictions.
- Liaise with project management and project engineering personnel throughout the estimate development.
What You Will Bring:
- Experience within the heavy civil and transportation construction industry – preferably field experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 12 years of related heavy civil construction estimating experience.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Proficient in preparing cost estimates using a variety of estimating tools, including HCSS HeavyBid, Excel spreadsheets, Bluebeam, and/or other estimating software.
- Experience working on large civil transportation projects.
- Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project scheduling experience.
